Hazel (Wilson) SilverMay 6, 1949 ~ October 12, 2017 (age 68)
Hazel Wilson Silver, 68, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Mission Hospital. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late John Lee and Birtha Whitson Wilson. She was also preceded in death by brothers: Paul and Fred Wilson. She was an employee of Glen Raven Mills for 32 years. Hazel was a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years Rex Silver; son: Rev. Don Wilson and wife Teresa of Burnsville; 2 granddaughters: Kayla Buchanan and husband Logan and Kelsey Wilson and fiancée Dale Bailey; 3 great granddaughters: Khloe, Brindley and Loretta Buchanan; 3 brothers: Oss Wilson and wife Alice of Burnsville, James Wilson of Lawndale and Farrell Wilson of Asheville; 3 sisters: Maxine Holloway and husband Britt, Neta Fox and Lora Phillips and husband Hobert, all of Burnsville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held 7 PM Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Logan Buchanan will officiate. Burial will be 2 PM Sunday in the Elkins Family Cemetery at Prices Creek.
The family will receive friends 5 until 7 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
