Lessie Haney, 80, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Mountain Manor Assisted Living.  A native of Watauga County, she was a daughter of the late Clint and Virgie Potter Lewis and the wife of Lonnie Haney, who passed away in 1998.  She was also preceded in death by a sister: Mable Woodring and brothers: Fred and Jack Lewis. Lessie faithfully attended New Beginning Baptist Church.

Surviving are her triplet sisters: Bessie New of Kingsport, TN, and Essie Mullett of Lenoir, and sister Shirley Miller of Lenoir; a brother: David Lewis of Jefferson City, TN; a step daughter: Jewel Haney Williams of Burnsville; a step son; Leonard Haney of Tallahassee, FL; 3 grandchildren; Judy Carol McCurry and husband Bryan of Unicoi, TN; Amy Jeanette Gill and husband Tim of Asheville and Rachel Ann Ellege and husband Chad of Waynesville; 7 great grandchildren; Hope, Abigail, Cate, and Alex Bouchard; Aidan and Avery Ellege and Zoey McCurry.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday in the Chapel of Holcombe Bros. Funeral Home.  The Revs Jackie Silver and Chad Ellege will officiate. Burial will be in the Academy Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
