Violet Woody Harding, 92 of Burnsville, went home Thursday August 31, 2017 at J. F. Keever Solace Center.  A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Edd and Maude Honeycutt Woody and the wife of Charlie Harding who died in 1996.  She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law: Carol Harding; brother: Donald Woody; and sister: Dottie Fields.  Violet was a member of Pleasant Gap Baptist Church.

Surviving are a daughter: Patricia Weatherman and husband Kenneth, of Burnsville; a son: Charles Harding, Jr. of Green Mountain; 2 grandchildren:  Charlie Harding, III and wife Kim, of Seattle, Washington and Cristen Harding of Burnsville; 3 sisters: Wilma Angel, Juanita Letterman and Billie June Dale, and 2 brothers:  Dennis Woody and Paul Woody, all of Burnsville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Saturday, September 2, 2017 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Kenneth Forbes will officiate. Burial will be in the Fred Young Cemetery at Pleasant Gap.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2 PM, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
