Jimmie (Jim) Pate, 69 of the Bee Branch Community, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 24th at his home. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Naff and Trula Bryant Pate. He was also preceded in death by a brother Jerry Lee Pate who died in 2009. He will be remembered as a wonderful neighbor that would help anyone who asked. Jim was a master electrician and retired with 20 years faithful service with the N C Department of Correction, he also served his country in the US Army’s 127th Signal Battalion in Korea during the Vietnam War. Jim will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his son: Preston Pate and wife Sarah; grandchildren: Ava, Jazmin, and Jimmie Lee Pate; a niece: Rachel Boone; and his uncle: Paul Pate and wife Carole, all of Burnsville; and a very special first cousin: Treva Peterson of Erwin, TN and many wonderful friends.
Funeral services will be held at 5PM Wednesday, March 28, 2018 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Phillip Hughes will officiate. Burial will be 10 AM Thursday, in the Peterson Hill Cemetery, on Hill Road.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
