Zula Phillips Hensley, 81, of Burnsville, went to heaven Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Smoky Ridge Rehabilitation and Care. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Lockie Adkins Phillips. She was the wife of Virgil Hensley who died in 1980. Zula enjoyed her flowers, loved to sing and was a prayer warrior.
Surviving are 4 children: Geralvina “Jerry” Phillips and husband Benny, of Burnsville, Bobby Hensley, of Burnsville, Bronda Tyus, of Sneads, Florida and Robbie Hensley, of Green Mountain; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a brother: D. L. Phillips, of Charlotte.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Thursday, April 19, 2018 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Rev. Cecil Hensley will officiate. Burial will be in the Gardner Cemetery, at Riverside.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
