Ruby Dienstberger, age 98, peacefully entered into eternal life on Friday, December 27 at Brian Center ~ Weaverville. Born June 12, 1921 in Delphos, Ohio, she was the daughter of Herman and Lola Dell Bartz Kloeppel. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Earl; a brother, Paul Kloeppel and a sister Velma Kloeppel Murray. Surviving to cherish her memory are a daughter Ann Hoyt (Steve) of Burnsville, a son Douglas Dienstberger (Maggi) of Euharlee, Georgia, and nephews Michael Paul Murray (Peggy) of Dubuque, Iowa, Mark Fisher (Becky) and Jimmy Fisher (Jenny) and nieces, Bethany Fisher Wind (Jeff) and Theresa Fisher Haner (Jason) all of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Elloree, South Carolina and attended Higgins Memorial United Methodist Church while she lived in Burnsville.
After graduating from Delphos Jefferson High School, Ruby was employed at United Dental Laboratory in Lima, Ohio until she started her family. She enjoyed being a homemaker and a gardener. She was President of the Elida, Ohio Garden Club and also the Garden Club in Santee, South Carolina after retiring here. After her children were grown, Ruby joined her husband at Sabre Systems Appraising Firm and worked in the office until she retired. Her passion in her later years turned to stamp collecting. She created a unique filing system for her extensive stamp collection and spent hours each day working in her stamps.
A celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, December 30 in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home. Dr. Rev. John Fowler will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in Spruce Pine Memorial Park following the service.
